Darley Perez-Alain Hernandez non-title bout to headline ‘Path To Glory’ pay-per-view – Boxing news
Darley Perez, the undefeated Colombian lightweight, is scheduled to bout Alain Hernandez, the Mexican pugilist who will make a comeback after almost 13 months, in an eight-round non-title skirmish on April 6, 2012.
The event ‘PATH TO GLORY’ is a Thompson Boxing Promotion’s card and will be promoted by Ken Thompson. Darley-Alain duo will headline the pay-per-view and the ring for the bouts will be stretched at Doubletree Hotel situated in Ontario, California, United
States.
Darley will return to the ring after the lapse of four months and was outside due to uncertain health conditions. The 28-year-old Colombian is on an undefeated win streak and has never lost even a single bout in a total 24 skirmishes.
The orthodox Perez last fought Fernando Trejo and collected a unanimous decision in his favour. Darley has proudly held the interim WBO Latino lightweight title and vacant WBA Fedelatin lightweight title and resides at World Boxing Organisation’s (WBO’s)
eighth rank.
Perez has nailed several experienced men and is a knockout specialist, the reason why he has collected 18 of his total wins by knockout. Darley tries his level best to throw maximum raw powered punches to knock the opponent out in just the initial rounds.
Darley boasts huge wins over Jose Reyes, Wilson Alcorro, Oscar Meza, and others. Alain, on the other hand, is not a classic brawler and has been in a total 29 bouts. He has won just 18 bouts and only 10 of them by knockout. Alain has not enjoyed much in
his career and has lost bouts against almost every prolific high calibre pugilist.
Alain, infamous as the ‘Konan’, has fought just one title bout against Antonio Cervantes and lost the bout via technical knockout in the 10th round. The Mexican Konan last fought against the invincible Paul Spadafora and got a brutal beating as a result
the bout was ended in just the fifth round.
After his recent two losses against Paul and Antonio, Alain went out of the ring for a while and since then has not returned to the sport. On April 6, the Mexican pugilist will try hard to break his two-bout loss streak and will strive to get back on the
winning track.
At the moment the odds are in Perez’s favour since he has accomplished wins over significant names. The only facet that might help Antonio will be his experience and mistakes that he has learnt from his prior bouts.
The card will also witness a co-headline light welterweight bout between Jose Reynoso and James Hope.
