Darren Bent admits that he won’t celebrate against Sunderland – English Premier League
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358 has admitted that he won’t celebrate if he scores against his former club Sunderland in the English Premier League. Aston Villa are set to face Sunderland in their next league encounter but the club’s star striker who
rose to fame at Sunderland has emotional connections to the Tyneside club, something that will make it hard for him to celebrate when if he nets another goal against the Black Cats. Bent has benefitted as a result of his move to Aston Villa as he has broken
into the English national team ranks through it.
However, the former Tottenham striker still remains humble in his approach to the game. Speaking to the media recently, Bent admitted that he had a wonderful time at Sunderland in the 18 months that he was with the Tyneside club.
Bent’s goal scoring record for Sunderland was prolific to say the least as he answered his critics time and again through impressive finishing.
Bent went onto elaborate on his departure from the club that gave him an opportunity to prove himself. The Englishman explained that he was disappointed at the way he exited the Stadium of light as all of his relationships at the
club collapsed. He added, "Whatever happens, I will not celebrate if I score - there won't be any badge kissing or anything like that - because I had such good times up there. I have huge respect for the people at Sunderland and what they did for me. I owe
that respect to the stadium.”
The former Tottenham striker also said, "A player's career is short and sometimes you have to take a decision. Sometimes it's not a popular decision but it was a football decision, one I realise fans can't take when it comes to
who they support. So it hurt them. But it was nothing to do with money or greed - it was purely a football decision.”
Aston Villa will definitely want Bent to score against Sunderland as the Englishman seems to be their main goal threat this season along with the speedy http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 McLeish will hope that his team continue their solid
start to the second with a win against the Black Cats.
