Darren Bent has scored 12 goals in 24 appearances this season for Sunderland. His speed and good goal conversion rate will add the much needed power to Aston Villa's lagging attack that has remained lacklustre in the Premier League

and the players, our supporters and the club as a whole have every right to feel massively let down.”
The former Tottenham and Charlton striker, who began his playing career with Ipswich, said: "I'm delighted to join Aston Villa. This is a big, big opportunity for me”.
