Darren Bravo released by his IPL franchise – Cricket News Update
Hard-hitting middle-order batsman of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DM-Bravo-c1386, has lost his contract with the Hyderabad based Indian Premier League Franchise, ahead of the players’ auction for the 2013 edition of the lucrative Twenty league.
Bravo, 23, was bought by the terminated IPL franchise, Deccan Chargers, for $100,000 at the 2012 Indian Premier League, but the Trinidadian opted out of the competition as it clashed with West Indies’ home Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Chanderpaul-c2390.
Deccan Chargers finished last in the fifth season of the IPL and the franchise was later terminated due to various violations of BCCI codes by the then owners of the franchise, DCHL (Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd). http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792 based IPL franchise’s new owners, The Sun TV network, retained 20 players from the terminated DC but opted not to renew Bravo’s contract.
A total of 107 local and international players have been released by the nine IPL franchises, Bravo being one of them. The deadline for the franchises to submit a list of players they wished to retain ahead of the players' auction and the IPL trading window was October 31. Whilst releasing a host of players, the franchises have retained 179 players – 120 Indian and 59 international – on the same financial terms.
