Darren Chan Chin Wah secures Men’s 200m breaststroke gold – 2013 Indian Ocean Meet
Darren Chan Chin Wah secured gold medal of the Men’s 200m breaststroke on final day of the 2013 Indian Ocean Meet in St. Paul, Reunion, on Sunday, December 30.
Chan Chin Wah showed no mercy to his opponents in the distant breaststroke discipline as he surfaced on the finishing end for the title.
With his commendable pace, he stayed prominently ahead of his closest swimmer and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal by touching the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 23.98 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Mamitina Ramanantsoa Tsilavina, who stayed two and a half body lengths slower from his former finisher and secured silver medal of the race by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 26.49 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Dimitri Faubourg of France, who was 2.08 seconds slower and emerged on the finishing end for third position by producing an effort of 2 minutes and 28.57 seconds.
Fourth position of the race was obtained by Mathieu Bachman of France, who stayed almost three seconds behind and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 31.70 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Nathan Mandere of France, who was 2.29 seconds behind and transpired on the finishing end with the timing of 2 minutes and 33.99 seconds.
Mandere was followed by Warren Hau Kim Fong, who was 0.12 seconds slower from his former finisher and reached the finishing end for sixth position by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 34.11 seconds.
Seventh fastest spot of the race was obtained by Oliver Ah Ching, who stayed 1.07 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and touched the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 35.18 seconds.
Similarly, Ching remained two and a half body length away from his foregoing finisher and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 37.62 seconds for eighth position.
Furthermore, the arena applauded for exhausting efforts of all participants while the position holders received medals and accolades for their commendable forms at the victory ceremony of the tournament.
