Darren Clarke misses U.S Open due to injury, remains the most consistent 43-year-old in golf!
Darren Clarke will not be seen in the U.S. Open because of a serious groin injury.
Last year’s British Open Champion is struggling with the injury and has finally decided not to play professional golf till July, as his doctors have advised him not to play until a full recovery.
Clarke has been a part of professional golf since 1990. His start to the precision game was very impressive. The best aspect regarding the 43-year-old Irishman has been his consistency throughout his career.
The golfers of the current era lack consistency. In the 90’s, golf was a game of consistency and resiliency. This era gave birth to aggressive golfers, who may be performing well while they are in their specific zone but due to the lack of consistency, they
fall as quickly as they rise.
Clarke is an exception unlike other golfers of the 90’s era. He has given good results throughout his career that spans for over a decade’s time.
His career holds a total of 22 professional wins, including a Major Championship.
His latest win was last year’s British Open Championship that declared his overall consistency as one of the finest golfers that the world has ever seen.
His injury has left him disappointed, as he wanted to participate in the U.S. Open to continue with his good form in hopes of becoming the U.S Open Champion.
His play saw weakness, as he was uncomfortable during play and admitted being a little off due to his injury.
Clarke looks bold. He is convinced not to risk his career with any negligence on his part and focuses on his future in the game of golf.
“I haven’t been able to get through the ball properly because of it and I don’t want to take any chances,” said Clarke.
He may be disappointed but he is surely making the right decisions for himself, keeping his future career in mind. He will be seen in action in July, where he will hopefully take on the Irish Open in hopes of winning the title.
Darren Clarke is one of the most consistent golfers the world has ever seen. His injury may be considered as a hurdle in his future games, yet, his decisions are precise and intelligent. The Irish Open in June/July will speak of Clarke’s form after his injury.
