Darren Fletcher foresees a glorious future with Manchester United
Manchester United midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Fletcher-c10361 believes that the Red Devils will only improve as time goes on.
Fletcher’s comments come just days after he signed a new four-year deal which will see him remain at Old Trafford until 2015.
Many believe that the Red Devils are on the decline, especially with veterans such as Ryan Giggs, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Neville-c14447 on their way out of the Manchester club. With manager Sir Alex Ferguson also entering the twilight of his managerial career, even
the legendary Eric Cantona has expressed fears about Manchester United’s future.
However, Darren Fletcher claims that the club has nowhere to go but up. The midfielder claims that Manchester United will continue to enjoy success in the coming years, even after the retirement of the club’s old guard.
Fletcher said, “I am confident in the ability we have got and the experience we have gained. Players like Giggs, Scholes and Neville will never be replaced because they are greats of the game. But you hope a new wave can create their own history and have
their own achievements.”
He added that the players had the drive and determination to do well for United.
Darren Fletcher has been a part of Manchester United since he was 15 years old. The midfielder has now established himself as an integral part of the squad, but even his vast experience pales in comparison to that of veterans such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985 and Paul
Scholes.
Fletcher said, “There are people here who act as inspirations, not only with what they do on the pitch but also the manner in which they conduct themselves. We look up to them and want to follow in their footsteps.”
He added that it was an honour to play at the Club and even if someone gets half close to their careers, it would be considered quite an achievement.
Manchester United currently sit at the summit of the Premier League table with 60 points.
