Darren Fletcher praises Manchester United’s resilient performance at Stoke City – English Premier League
Sir Alex Fergusons started the match without the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tom-Cleverley-c35218, Wayne Rooney, Rafael da Silva and Johnny Evans at the Britannia stadium but it didn’t take long for Manchester United to suffer another vital injury blow
as Javier Hernandez injured his hip in a clash with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-Woodgate-c19069.
With so many injuries on the table, Manchester United did well to take the lead against Stoke City through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 but in the end, Stoke’s constant aerial threat from set pieces and corner kicks proved to be too much for the Red Devils
who had to settle for a scored draw in the end. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Fletcher-c10361 started the match for United but his performance wasn’t that impressive as United found it hard to find that creative spark in the final third of the field that they so desperately needed to make
a breakthrough in the second half.
Fletcher was paired up with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anderson-c5565 who also disappointed with some of his distribution in the second half as things got tiresome for the Red Devils. United now face F.C Basel in their next UEFA Champions League encounter on
Tuesday night and after that they host Norwich City at Old Trafford before taking on the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
It will be interesting to see whether or not Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 persists with the same midfield duo who started against Stoke City. Fletcher spoke about the positives in Manchester United’s display at Stoke City as he said, "From being in
a winning position and losing a goal from a set-piece obviously we're disappointed not to get all three. It's a difficult place to come. There's always a great atmosphere and you know you're in for a physical match, but I think the lads stood up to it today
and battled well.”
He added, "You've got to enjoy and relish coming here. If you come here with any fear then that will be evident in your performance. You know what to expect, you prepare for it in training and you try your best to deal with it.
A lot of work goes into preparing for today because Stoke do a lot of work on their set-pieces and they're a real threat from them. If you don't do your homework and prepare well you can be caught badly and I think in general we dealt with it quite well today.”
Manchester United will hope that the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550 return from their fitness troubles sooner rather than later as the Red Devils have some tough Premier League encounters coming up against the likes of
Manchester City as well as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809.
