Darren Lehmann impressed with Ishant Sharma and Munaf Patel
Former Australian middle order batsman Darren Lehmann feels that fast bowlers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ishant-Sharma-c64566 and Munaf Patel have the ability to serve Indian cricket for many more years to come.
Former left hander is currently coaching Deccan Chargers in the fourth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). His team has not done that well in the current season but Lehman is impressed by Sharma who is playing for the same franchise.
Sharma has been out of form since last year and that was the reason why he lost his place in the Indian limited overs lineup. However, Lehman expressed that the lanky fast bowler has bowled exceptionally well for the Chargers this season.
He added that Sharma is working very hard on his fitness and this is the reason why he is back to his best. Lehman went on to say that he has not seen any other fast bowler to regain his form and fitness as fast as Ishant has done.
Lehmann said, "He (Ishant) has been the real find for us this year. To have him and (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dale-c52110) Styen to start the bowling has been great for us. He had issues, early in the tournament, with no balls. We sorted that out and he's bowling beautiful length and with
good pace. He trains as hard as anyone. I have not seen a fast bowler, train and recover so well. His preparation is second to none."
Former left hander also praised Munaf Patel who is currently playing for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians in the current season of IPL. Patel bowled very well in the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and Lehman feels that the fast bowler relies on his line and
length rather than pace and movement.
Chargers’ coach went on to say that he is sure that Ishant and Munaf will play a huge role for Indian cricket in the years to come.
"He's bowled very well in the World Cup. I think he's more consistent with his length and line, more so than anything else. I think he and Ishant are the two bowlers who will take Indian bowling a long way," said Lehmann.
