I have lots of running backs on the bench and can only start 2, Reggie Bush on my bench, and thinking about picking up Ricky Williams from free agency. So id have 2 back up rbs. My receivers are weak. Colston my only top notch guy then i have Calvin and Chris Chambers. So do you think this trade will be worth my while??? thanks btw my rb's are Joe Addai and Thomas Jones.

  1. i probably wouldn't becuase those two guys could have breakout seasons.  McFadden is the most talented RB in Oakland on a run heavy team and Calvin Johnson is entering his second season fully healthy.

  2. Your gonna need McFadden if you plan on playing Thomas Jones, Thomas Jones is a Joke.

  3. NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!

    don't even consider it

  4. NOOOOOOOOOOO! Calvin JOhnson could have a big year, and Mcfadden will get a ton of carries. remember a guy named Adrian Peterson.

  5. Yeah, it doesn't hurt.  Mcfadden might not get as many carries with all those RBs in Oak...although i'd try to counter a trade to not include Calvin Johnson...because if you can keep him and have Fitzgerald w/ Chambers, your WRs corp is credible.

  6. Well, Darren Mcfadden is an unproven rookie.

I never take rookies at RB or WR.

Yes, I know, everyone says "remember Adrian Peterson".

But I am correct abot rookies 99% of the time.

Calvin Johnson does have potential to do well this season.

Going by potential is good in some cases.

But, in this case, you are weighing potential vs proven performance.

Fitzgerald had twice as many yards receiving and twice as many TDs as Johnson did last year.

So, if you can give up a RB that hasn't played a down in the NFL and a WR that may or may not have a good season, for a WR that will get you 1,200 + yards and 10 or more TDs, I say you make the trade.

You still have Reggie Bush, Joe Addai and Thomas Jones.

And if you pick up Ricky Williams, you at least know that he has talent enough to put up some stats if he gets to the level he was before he "retired". Unlike Mcfadden who hasn't proved anything yet.

When you have Fitzgerald, Chambers, Colston, Addai, and either Jones or Busch on the field, you will do very well.

    Just my take on it.

    Good luck.
