Darren Sammy aims to make things difficult for Sri Lanka in the ICC World Twenty20 finale – Cricket News Update

(today) ICC World Twenty20 final against hosts Sri Lanka.
“We are determined to spoil the Sri Lankan party. The two best teams are in the final and if Sri Lanka are strong, we too have peaked in time."
While acknowledging Chris Gayle’s ability to take the same away from any opposition, Sammy insisted that Gayle wasn’t the only one in the current contingent capable of giving a match-winning performance.
“We have Gayle to give us a good start. If he gets going it is great, but we have enough resources in the bank if he does not give the start we need. When we take the field on Sunday, everyone will be looking to perform their best because this is going to
be a memorable occasion and a victory will mean a lot for fans back home,” said the West Indies skipper.
Admitting that the Sri Lankan side would be more acclimatized to the playing conditions R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, he insisted that conditions will not matter much if his players deliver.

West Indies have not won a major http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 tournament since their 2004 Champions Trophy victory and securing their first ever Twenty20 Championship title will be a great achievement for Sammy in his men.
West Indies on Friday stormed into the final after beating http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 by 74 runs in the semi-final of the tournament with opener Gayle hammering an unbeaten 75 off just 41 balls.
After the defeat Australian skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/George-Bailey-c1480 warned the Sri Lankan team to bowl-out Gayle before allowing him to settle in the middle.
Gayle on the other hand, is confident that the title would go to West Indies insisting that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 fans would be cheering in glory on Sunday instead of Sri Lankan supporters.
