"We are disappointed there was no play because we said if we could get a win in a Test in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, it would be an achievement for the team," said the visiting captain after persistent rain washed out Thursday’s first day of the third and final Test against
England at Edgbaston without a ball bowled.
The Windies have already lost the three-match Test series with back-to-back defeats at Lord’s (by five wickets) and Trent Bridge (by nine wickets), and need to win or at least draw the third and final Test to salvage some pride for themselves and enter the
limited overs leg of the itinerary with straight heads.
Hoping the weather gods would not interfere much over the next four days, the 28-year-old St Lucia all-rounder urged his players to be at their best once the game starts on Friday, to avoid a humiliating 0-3 Test series whitewash.
"We need as much play as possible over the next four days to accomplish this," said Sammy, who was appointed as the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 skipper in October 2010, was the first ever St Lucian to take charge of the national team.
"We now have to go all out for the win...The weather outlook for the next few days does not look to bright, so we will keep our fingers crossed that whatever play we can get, we will look to win those sessions," he added further.

The 37-year-old Guyana star has been the only saving grace for struggling Windies in the series so far, scoring a tally of 235 runs from four innings, including unbeaten 87 and 91 at Lord’s.
