The five-match One Day International (ODI) series between Australia and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 for a much-awaited Test series.
The Caribbean men are considered to be one of the most dangerous limited-overs sides of the world, in the presence of some extra-ordinary strikers of the cricket ball like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andre-Dwayne-Russell-c44235.
Australia, on the other hand, are presently going through a rebuilding phase after the retirement of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MEK-Hussey-c1942, two of their most reliable batsmen of the previous decade.
The two teams played five ODIs in the Caribbean last year, with the series tied at 2-2. While speaking to ESPNcricinfo, Sammy expressed that his team is geared to beat the hosts this time. The all-rounder claims that West Indies are improving with every
single series and they now have the confidence to beat any team of the world.
"It's a great opportunity for us as a team to come here and be successful. We are a young, developing team and we are now showing signs that we can not only compete but win against other higher-ranked opposition," the West Indies captain expressed.
Sammy is jubilant to have Sarwan back in the reckoning, who has had poor relations with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and the team management over the last couple of years. The skipper is expecting the former captain to deliver the goods under trying
circumstances and hold his side’s batting together. However, Sammy admits that Marlon Samuels’ absence is a huge setback for the visitors.
He added, "He's a class player. We expect him to come out and do well for us. Marlon is a big loss. Since he has been back, he has been very good for us and we will miss him. But I think Sarsy is equally capable of playing that role and stabilising the number
three position."
