The West Indian skipper, Darren Sammy, has expressed satisfaction over the performance of his new-look team in the first Test of the three-match series against India, despite losing the match by a five-wicket margin.
The visiting skipper praised his young side for the commendable performance in the Test match played at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, adding that the early wicket of India’s middle-order mainstay http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dravid-c2229 had given them a hope of turnaround in the game.
"It was a d**n good display by our team here. We were aware how tough it is to beat India at home. We played some good cricket," said Sammy while talking to the media reporters after his side’s five-wicket defeat to the hosts on Wednesday.
"We always had hope. Cricket is a game of shifting fortunes and glorious uncertainties. So getting the wicket early gave us some hope. But (VVS) Laxman and Sachin (Tendulkar) took the game away from us," he added further.

Sammy rued that they could have saved the game, had they scored some more runs in the second innings.
"When you play against a top team, you want to create the opportunity to win. We did that in the first innings, but did not bat well in the second,” lamented the West Indies all-rounder.
Sammy however, was hopeful his side can win matches on the turning subcontinent pitches if they could find ways to score against spin.
The second Test of the series will commence in Kolkata on November 14, 2011.
