Giving the example of the Man of the Match, Rahul Dravid, who played a painstaking knock of 112 runs in the second innings and tail ender Harbhajan Singh, Sammy urged his players to take responsibility like their Indian counterparts.
“It's about being more mentally focussed when you are out there in the middle and doing whatever it takes to put your team in good position,” said the right-arm medium pacer.
“Like how (Rahul) Dravid played and Harbhajan (Singh) came and played the situation of the game, taking charge of the situation. We need more guys to take on that responsibility," he added further.
When asked about the confidence he has in his team, the home skipper said that just as the boys believe in him, he also believes in them. He said that keeping a positive atmosphere in the team’s dressing room has always been their top priority.
Sammy was hopeful of bouncing back in the second Test, commencing in Bridgetown on July 28, 2011.
