Darts and CSR now to take a different direction with the same cause
It has been an old tradition of darts that has been adhered and implemented by almost all darts players and their respective organisations.
Every winter, darts players from all over the world unite with the single intent of financially helping foundations created for curing the disease of cancer.
However, this winter this form of assistance and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) motive has now taken a different direction.
This time collections and donations will be made to raise money for the Jem Theatre Projector Fund.
The main objective behind this act of hospitality is to help the organisation pay off its loans after purchasing a digital projector for the foundation.
Key people of the foundation, Bryan Fishbaugher and Lynn Mensink, in order to make the collection, have decided to arrange a full scale event.
The tournament is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. with the play beginning at 1 p.m.
One of the organisers, Fishbaugher, in support of the event said that such kinds of programs are pivotal for organisations that have been proactively involved in the treatment of cancer patients.
"We want to help get this projector loan paid off. We not only want to help keep our theatre operating in town, but we want to help alleviate any financial stress we can for Michelle and the Haugerud family".
He further added that since Paul Haugerud passed away before his efforts could materialise, the entire venture became much more profound in terms of significance.
In addition to this, he also requested people to bring any such items for auction that can be used with the intent of helping people suffering from a disease like cancer.
Some of the items which have already been presented for auction comprise of a luggage set, wildlife prints, auto glass cleaner, dinner/theatre packages and several handmade items.
The event which will provide food to all their guests for the entire day is also intended to strengthen bonds on inter community basis.
Furthermore, the event will comprise of 32 teams, which implies that people coming to donate will definitely have a day filled with entertainment, along with the fulfilment of humanitarian objectives.
