Darts geared for the battles of the year, Armageddon to go underway in April
As if the excitement of the Premier League was not enough, the skyline of darts will face another revolution of exhilaration in April.
With the beginning of darts Armageddon event, the game is bound to reach unprecedented levels. The event will be getting underway in Leicestershire, featuring some of the most legendary battles.
Out of all others, the encounter between the 15-time champion Phil Taylor and veteran darts player Eric Bristow is being speculated the most.
Bristow, who has also won five darts championships, has also given his approval for the biggest upcoming event of darts.
According to promoter of the event Matt Ward, “Neither of them ever plays to lose”.
It is important to mention that Bristow, who is also known as ‘The Crafty Cockney’, emerged as the biggest name in darts when he won five championships in the 80’s.
It was Bristow, who in the first place sponsored Taylor, after realising his potential in darts. The sorcerer and apprentice met each other on the oche in the BDO World Championship in 1991.
Even though Taylor won the match with a score line of 6-1, the encounter has for long been regarded as one of the most legendary darts battle of all time.
This time the audience will be provided with the opportunity of enjoying the same level of excitement or even more than that.
Taylor is still enjoying an eventful career and a winning streak at McCoy Premier League in Aberdeen.
‘The Power’ seems to be in complete form after winning his campaign launching game against reigning champion Adrian Lewis.
This was later followed by his victory against Kevin Painter. The popularity of the event can be vindicated from the fact that its tickets are only available in limited numbers.
Furthermore, it will just not be Taylor and Bristow in the grand event.
The line-up of the event will get festooned with the elite of darts, comprising Justin Pipe, Aussie Ace Simon Whitlock, Mardle, Osborne and Cousins.
Experts believe that the event will definitely play an extremely pivotal role in revamping the spirit of war that fizzed off in darts long time ago. It is precisely why this event has been entitled as ‘Armageddon’.
