  1. No, this is not a typo...the question is asking about 'Darvin's Theory' not 'Darwin's Theory'.

Darvin Ham won an NCAA slam dunk contest in 1996 and was a member of the 2004 Detroit Pistons Championship team.  He theorized that momentum on approach to a layup or basket is maximized by a special combination of 'blocking'...the conversion of horizontal into vertical energy, along with special 'springback' soles.  These soles supposedly exerted virtually all the energy put into it during the blocking.

The first part of Darvin's Theory is true; however it is nothing new, as blocking is an established practice (volleyball players use this jump).  The second part is in question, but it was more likely a scheme to market and sell basketball soles.

  2. Aside from the theological answers you will get, it is considered a theory, and therefore has not been shown to be true or false.

  3. Yea DARWIN's evolutions theory must be true. Please practice spelling writing.

  4. do you mean Darwin's Theory? the reason its called a theory and not a law is because there is not enough scientific evidence   to prove that it is certain.

  5. Do you mean Darwins Theory? And if is I don't know... I am not sure what I believe

  6. Darwin's theory of evolution is that human beings evolved alongside apes from another four legged creature. Therefore, we did not come FROM apes, but WITH them.

However, as a Christian, I cannot say that I agree with Darwin. While to some extent I do believe that organisms evolve in order to better adapt to their changing environment, I believe that God created humans as we are today.

  7. We cant be sure because it is a theory, but for the most part it seems to be accepted world wide.

  9. True!

  10. true

  11. The word "theory" does not have the same meaning in science as it does in more common usage.  Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia: "In science, a theory is a mathematical description, a logical explanation, a verified hypothesis, or a proven model of the manner of interaction of a set of natural phenomena, capable of predicting future occurrences or observations of the same kind, and capable of being tested through experiment or otherwise falsified through empirical observation. It follows from this that for scientists "theory" and "fact" do not necessarily stand in opposition."  Darwin's theory isn't mere conjecture.  It is supported by scientific evidence.  I say it's true, and not subject to "belief."

  12. Darwin's theory of evolution is a theory in the scientific sense of the word- an explanation for a set of evidence.

It is a good theory because the evidence supports it, and no evidence is against it.

Unfortunately, many people are very ignorant and make claims about Darwin's theories withiut reading them.

  13. true.  the word "theory" doesn't mean "guess" in science.  (this is all assuming you meant Darwin.  if you really meant Darvin, i have no freakin' idea!!)

  14. By theory do you mean the theory of evolution or one of his many theories? Evolution is no longer a theory my friend, it is a proven fact. Scientific evidence has proven that species evolve according to thier environmental surrounding and genetic ancestory. Take intro to bio or anthropology and this will be clearly evident.

  15. Which of his theories? - He had multiple theories.

His main theory of evolution, is for the most part true.

His theories of differen 'MODERN' human species has been disproven.

Even later notions of human sub-species (ie races) are false biologically. Race is a social designation. Like right now I'm 'sposed to be doing push-ups, running laps, or 'rapping' to you!

The methodology of those who claimed the existence of race is largely subjective in nature.

There's less genetic variation in the entire human species than in a small family of apes. We just have different phenotypes do to UV's, diet, humidity (noses, hair), and such. It's called convergent evolution.

Good thing today we know about PHENOTYPES! :^D

  16. That would be Darwin, as in Charles. Definitely FALSE!
