If I was having percocet withdrawals and took darvocet would the darvocet be masking the withdrawal symptoms or will it just delay the withdrawals until the darvocet is gone?

  1. Generally, using a opiate agonist to combat the withrawal of another opiate agonist is not sound practice.  Please see your physician for sound guidance for opiate withdrawal.

  2. You can try to taper off the pills over some time. Take less and less until you stop. Yes you will still have a mild withdrawl, but it will not be as severe.

  3. It will just delay the withdrawal until the darvocet clears your system. Darvocet is an opiate, just like percocet(oxycodone). It is, however, significantly less potent than percocet.

You should get help. Opiate withdrawal/detox should be medically managed in a hospital environment.
