As for your claim that Darwin predicted the civilized races would destroy the uncivilized ones, I'd like to know where you pulled that.

Finally, what is the significance in this question? Darwin's personal beliefs have absolutely no bearing on the robustness or correctness of his theory. James Watson, one of the two men responsible for discovering DNA, made statement that the African races might be inherently less intelligent than other races. This doesn't make DNA any less moral or any less true!

In Watson's defense, he apologized for the incident, saying he was misquoted. Perhaps that is the case with Darwin, as well; I'm waiting to see some evidence!

Well, I would say the peaceful transition from apartheid to post-apartheid government in South Africa is just one example that negates your last statement. Besides the racist overtones in your argument, and your shameless pride of being part of the 'elite team' of people that you think you belong to, I would like to point out one thing.

Its easy for you to discriminate and ask to eliminate the less fortunate, but would you ask the same thing if you were a member of that race?

Disregarding the immense overtones of racism in your question, the economy would never kill human beings if it could help it. They would likely re institute slavery in some way to be more productive.

That said, the money being sent to Africa clearly IS working. AIDS and other diseases are on the decline, their economies are beginning to function after decades of dysfunction, and, except for a few areas, peace is the identifying characteristic of these nations today.

It would be no more appropriate to ask this question of Africa than of the southern states of the United States, or China.
