http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Heerenveen-c40463 right-back has signed a contract with the Rotterdammers and will join the fallen Eredivisie giants before the start of the 2012/13 campaign.
Reports from De Kuip Stadion confirm that SC Heerenveen’s right-back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daryl-Janmaat-c10384, has put pen to a contract that will keep him at Feyenoord Rotterdam until the end of the 2014/15 campaign.
The 22-year-old has an expiring contract at Abe Lenstra Stadion that runs until the summer of 2012. Though many clubs wanted to sign the young defender on a free transfer, the right-back preferred to ply his trade at De Kuip Stadion.
The youngster reached an agreement with the fallen Eredivisie giants earlier this month, and has now officially inked down a contract.
“The agreement with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 was already done. But you have to sign a contract as well. The stadium is perfect. I am looking forward to play here”, Janmaat said while talking to journalists.
Heerenveen’s stopper then went on to assert that he will continue focusing on his current side and will try to bring silverware come the end of the season.
“I will remain fully committed to Heerenveen without a doubt. We have qualified for the semi-finals of the Dutch Cup. It would be wonderful to bid farewell to the club after grabbing silverware”, Janmaat concluded.
The Rotterdammers technical director, Martin van Geel, expressed his happiness after the youngster put pen to the contract. He revealed that everyone in the squad is positive about the 22-year-old.
“We are all positive that Daryl is joining us this summer. He will fit in perfectly, given his style of play. Hopefully, he will prove to be a fantastic acquisition”, Van Geel was quoted as saying to the Feyenoord’s official website.
Janmaat is a product of the Rotterdammers’ youth academy, but failed to make it into their first-team squad. After spending a season on-loan with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ADO-Den-Haag-c38221, he joined Heerenveen in the summer of 2008.
The Rotterdam giants were looking to add a new right-back to their squad before the next season due to the impending departures of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dani-c9867 Fernandez. Janmaat’s consistent performances for the Friesland outfit were enough for the Rotterdammers
to acquire his services for the coming seasons.
