Daryna Zevina of Ukraine captured the title of Girls 200m back-stroke final on the third day of the 3rd World Junior Championships 2011, supervised by Federation Internationale De Natation (FINA) on Thursday, August 18, in Lima, Peru.
Zevina bettered the championship record of the distant back-stroke swim, by submitting a fastest time of 2 minutes and 10.43 seconds. Her time was 1.02 seconds under the former championship mark of 2 minutes and 11.45 second, made by Miyu Otsuka of Japan

The gold medallist was followed by former championship record holder, Otsuka, who remained 0.59 seconds slower than her and stepped on the podium for the silver medal, with a timing of 2 minutes and 11.02 seconds. The podium was completed with the presence
of Karley Mann of Great Britain, who remained only 0.38 seconds slower than Otsuka and won the bronze medal, with a timing of 2 minutes and 11.40 seconds.
Mann was followed by Brittany MacLean of Canada, who was 0.05 seconds behind and settled as the fourth fastest swimmer, with a timing of 2 minutes and 11.45 seconds. MacLean was chased by Georgia Mae Hohmann of Great Britain, who posted a fifth fastest time
of 2 minutes and 12.03 seconds.
Hohmann remained 0.16 seconds faster than Kendyl Stewart of United States, who earned sixth position, with a timing of 2 minutes and 12.18 seconds. Mikkayla Sheridan of Australia remained 0.48 seconds behind Stewart and ended seventh spot, with a timing
of 2 minutes and 12.66 seconds. Yuanhui Fu of China settled as the eighth finisher of the event, as she remained 2.13 seconds away from her former finisher and ended her swim to post a time of 2 minutes and 14.79 seconds.
The spectators were thrilled with the splendid swims of all participants, while the winners received their medals after the championship.
