Dash Back set to end victory drought in Dundalk Handicap
Dash Back has got a solid chance of prevailing in the Dundalk Handicap in Ireland on Monday, July 16, 2012. A victory will earn her owner a cash prize of €4,830 in the end.
The going will be standard in the 6 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 13:55 GMT, and a total of 14 runners have lined up for action. Most of them have been struggling for consistency, thus it is difficult to predict whether who will finish on
top of the table.
However, Dash Back will be an ideal choice for the punters, as she has got the experience to match her opponents at this level and the track conditions will also suit her running style. She will be carrying the maximum weight though, which might cause her
a few problems at the end of the day.
The seven-year-old mare is nearing a half century of race starts, as she has participated in 48 events. However, she has not enjoyed a lot of success in her career due to which her strike rate is on the lower side.
The Adrian McGuinness’ trainee has managed to win just thrice whereas also secured the runner up spot on six times. Moreover, she has also finished third on four occasions, which shows that she can challenge her opponents for the top positions, if things
go well.
Sahm’s daughter out of Nadwah started her career in 2007, but took part in just one race that year. She was given the best odds back then, but failed to meet the expectations of the bookmakers and ended up second by one length. This was not a bad result
by any means, but things did not work out well for the seasoned mare in her next season.
She failed to win any event in 2008 and had to wait for June 2009 for her maiden victory. She triumphed once more that year, but the overall performances were not much impressive.
In 2010, Dash Back brought up her third win, but has been struggling to finish on the top since then. She has a solid chance of breaking the shackles today under jockey, Ian Brennan.
