Date ideas near Elgin, IL?

My boyfriend of 5 years is a senior this year, and I am starting my 1st job. We will be apart a lot this year, and I want to do something special with him before he goes away to school. Friday, August 22 is our "date night" and we live in Elgin, IL. Any suggestions?

Well, if the weather is nice you should check out Festival Park in downtown Elgin. It's gorgeous when it's lit up at night. They were showing movies in the park, I'm not sure if they still do it but you should check into it...very romantic =)

Otherwise, just enjoy a nice romantic walk downtown, get some food and just enjoy each other's company!!

It sounds like you are not 21... so there is less to do.

I would say, get a picnic lunch together, and head to Lyons Park in Elgin, go to the zoo, and eat under a tree on a bench.

Otherwise, head to 90 and Randall to Sushi Station for some awesome sushi and try some new foods. Then afterwards, head to Carpentersville along the river for a walk

The Cadillac Ranch has a new gourmet italian restaraut attached to it.

If you have to stay in Elgin there is a good German Restaurant there, I think it is on Grove.  It is called Gast Haus ZurLinde.

If you can get away, a bit west, head over to Randall Road.  There are a lot of restaurants in that area.  I have heard that the pizza at Wood Fire Gourmet Pizza is very good.  Buffalo Wild Wings is a bit south of 62, If you want a more expensive dinner, Biaggi's is very good. If you want buffet there is Golden Corral, CiCi's Pizza and in Spring Hill Mall there is Old Country Buffet.

Dinner and a Movie sounds pretty good to me.
