Ramadan Mubarak my Brothers and Sisters, hope that you all recieve the blessings of Allah and all your sins are forgiven.

I have seen in various posts, dates and more dates. Just curious as to why these are so beneficial during ramadan to feast on as i have never eaten them before.

the prophet(sws) used to only 7 a day (im not that sure though, cant find resource, i just remember a teacher tell me)

(to love from iran) how does that answer her question

  3. Well its because dates are a good source of  carbs. ie, natural sugars. When the body is weak after fasting the whole day--Dates provide instant energy.

Water ofcourse is the best way to stave off dehydration, restore the body's water balance and remove waste.

  4. It is written  that (the prophet Mohammad  was using to eat  dates and drink water

they are very healthy and  dates have a lot of  vitamins

  5. The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any of you breaks his fasting he should eat dates for dates are a blessing, if he didn’t find dates then drink water for water is purifying. [Abu Dawood]

Dates contain as high a percentage as 88% of carbohydrate (starch), (2.5-5%) of fat, (2.3-5.6%) of Protein and (6.4-11.5%) of Vitamins and dietary fibre. The flesh contains (0.2 – 5%) of oil, whereas the seed’s weight is (7.7 -9.7%) oil. The weight of the seed is (6.6 – 14.2%) of the date’s weight.

Dates contain Vitamins A, B1 and B2, And contain fluorine who defeats teeth decay. Other minerals that are found in various proportions in dates include boron, calcium, cobalt, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, phosphorous, sodium and zinc. Additionally, the seeds contain aluminum, cadmium, chloride, lead and sulphur in various proportions. Selenium, element believed to help prevent cancer and important in immune function, is also found in dates.

  9. There may be 101 reasons to eat or not to eat dates... but my dear muslim fellow brother/sis.... y cant we eat them just because our beloved prophet liked it very much!!!! It puts no obligation to eat dates, but it certainly sounds very good if you eat because The Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW ate them.
