Dating a Russian Man

I'm an Canadian women and I'm living with a Russian man.  I am older than he by 15 years, and love him very much, but I can't seem to stop thinking he has a reason for being with me.  He treats me like gold but has never spent anything on me although I pay for everything, it's killing me inside.  We have been together for 8 months.  Can someone please give me advice, what should my next step be? Please help!
