  1. It all depends on her, if she feel like walking then she will began to do it. But if she is lazy then you have to wait.

  2. I have 2 daughters and plenty of neices & nephews. Every child is different. The excell in different areas at different times. My guess by your quick explaination is... she should be walking very soon. I'm sure she is liberated by the fact she can do what she is doing already! Hold her hands up to support her and let her practice with you everyday. Make it fun! If she is almost a yr, than her muscles are ready to do this.

    Very exciting I know!!!

  3. She will get brave and let go soon. This is def. the first step to walking. Children usually walk between 10 and 16 months so she is right on track don't rush her though. I know it is very exciting but they just grow up so fast and once she starts there's no going back she will never be a baby again so enjoy this time when she can't go too fast, I know I have three of my own and my youngest just turned two. For me it was sad because I knew he would be my last baby. Now he is a toddler and I already miss all those little things. Happy bday to her and good luck. Enjoy every minute!!!

  4. I agree with EC.  We never used a walker for our son, and he started at 10 months walking.  They get a better chance at exercising their leg muscles with no walker.

But that aside, she will start walking around when she is ready to walk.  It comes for different times for different babies.  Good luck and enjoy it.  =)

  5. The best thing you can do to help her walk is throw away the walker. They not only slow the process of learning to walk they can damage the baby's hips. She'll walk on her own when she is ready. Some kids go immediately from cruising to walking, others need some time to feel secure. Just give her plenty of time and freedom to move in a safe environment.

  6. it all depends on how fast she gets comfortable with it. before you know it, she will just let go of the walker one day and just cruise off. maybe a month or so. my son started using his walker yesterday he is 13 mo and behind on development. his p.t. told us about 2 months for him.

  7. I have raised 4 children and each one was different.  My earliest walker was barely 10 months old.  My latest one....chose not to walk until she was almost l7 months old.  I was worried but she pretty much got big brother or someone else to do her bidding and she didnt have to!

Your daughter will walk soon.   It will be exciting!

Give her lots of time on the floor and practice with her.  Do you know the song The wheels on the bus?  You can exercise her legs and arms to that song.   you can put a toy out of reach so she has to reach and stretch and move to it.   Show her how to pull herself up and how to move her feet.  A favorite is to hold her two hands in yours and walk her around the room then do it with just one hand.

have fun and enjoy it, it is over so fast!!!!
