My daughter is going to have a Fairy Princess birthday, she will be turning 4. I want to invite some boys as well but I know that "Fairy Princess " is too girlie for boys. How can I incorporate this fairy princess theme for boys as well. Also if you have suggestions on websites I can buy decorations and supplies. Also games for the kids would be nice. Thank you.

  1. Have separate boy/girl goodie bags. Maybe have some Spider man ones for the boys. Also, if they are all around the age of 4 they won't care if it is "Fairy Princess" or not. Some boys that age play with dolls anyway. It is usually the parents that have the issues with "gender appropriate" toys, etc.

  2. Oh my gosh, my baby sis had a b-day like this ha at 4 and we just gave the little boys crowns and swords and shields, it was too cute, also, we had a little dress up station with little dresses for the girls and the guys just played swords and stuff, it was too cute.  But just dress it up girly it wont matter, oh and we gave the little boys like fancy cups, you know that kings drink out of.  TOO cute. Anyway hope this helps!

  3. well 1 game would be a tea party, but if u invite boys no way. dont invite a couple boys, invite several so they dont feel like they'r ethe only ones. 4 yr olds dont' care a ton about the gril/boy stuff. my little 4 yr old brother likes care bares and barbie.

  4. you could let the boys dress up as camelot characters , take cardboard & cut into sword shape & then wrap in aluminum foil to give them a shiny look (or they could be frogs - you know like every princess kisses a frog!)

also for games you could do "pin the crown on the princess"

get a blown up picture of your daughter & miniture paper crowns & play the same way as Pin the tail on the donkey only who ever gets the crown closest to the head wins!!

  5. I don't think they care that much. My little cuzin (who tuned 4) had like a pony or princess party and all the little boys were running around in pony party hats lol. But you could buy crowns and fake swords and they can be prices

  6. I agree with Tati, let them be "knights in shining armor". I'm sure a party supply store has helmets or armor.

  7. well if you go medieval you can just add knights and dragons, that should do alot to add a boy friendly touch

  8. I know it is hard to break the habit, since most people were brought up that pink is for girls and blue is for boys.  That is only because men & women have expressed those stereotypes on children for a long time.  I try very hard not to "encourage" any kind of gender stereotyping in my house with my two children (one boy & one girl)...My son & daughter both love tea parties & trucks.  My son gets reminded when he says things like, pink is a girl's color-its not its just a color.  If you have a fairy princess party, keep it that...I don't think a 4 year old boy would be uncomfortable, they will still have fun.  A parent may make a comment, but this is your daughters party, it is not for the guests.

  9. Hi! I am planning a fairy and wizard party for my 6 year old girl. The idea is to buy fairy wings, wands and tiaras for the girls, and capes and wizard hats for the boys (like harry potter)!! I'm actually planning on buying cheap material and stitching the capes/cloaks with 1 yard of black fabric with gathers at the top! as I cant seem to find them.

Cake - you can either do a fairy princess cake or a castle cake!!

Favors - for the girls - bracelets, necklaces, jewelry, hair bands, glitter nail polish or lip gloss, stick candy and a fairy note pad or story book.  Favors for the boys can include Harry Potter boxes with magic wands, bean bag owls, a lightening bolt tattoo, Harry Potter stickers, and a golden house cup and blue glow in the dark stars.

oh! and for the favor bags, use white paper bags and stick fairy or harry potter stickers.... you can also draw stars.. and just colour them!! or get your 4 year old to do so!!

Activities like treasure hunt are a huge hit with both girls and boys. You can hide some fairy and harry potter stuff... Or just hide gold coins !!

If you have a friend to do some majic as well.... its a huge success with 4 year olds.

Hope you have a great party !! Do let me know if you need any more ideas!! I love kids parties!!

  10. Try http://www.clicket.com/  for the decorations and supplies. They have a really cute princess pattern...here's their party supply section http://www.clicket.com/Party-Supplies/Pa...

Even though you are having boys, you could still do the majority in the princess theme, (decorations, plates and what not) but I would suggest doing different goody bags for the boys.  You could pick any theme for that.

Maybe a Captain Hook theme, to keep it disney related http://www.clicket.com/Party-Supplies/Bo...

Or Indiana Jones - that's a big hit this summer http://www.clicket.com/Party-Supplies/Bo...

For games, I like to be creative with the traditional game of Pin the Tail on the Donkey.  You could change it up a bit and do Pin the Princess on the Castle (for the boys have them pin a prince).  You can easily make this with construction paper and then cover that in clear contact paper to keep it from ripping.  Then just apply something sticky on the back.

You could also have them find their goody bags by doing a Royal Hunt (like a treasure hunt) and have them work in teams or something.

Those two games, plus food, cake and presents should make for a busy party.  You could also have a pinata http://www.clicket.com/Products/Disney-F...  I dont think the boys would care if it's a princess pinata as long as there's candy coming from it! lol

  11. Get the boys to dress up as pirates who rescue princess or princes who can marry the princesses.

They all love the traditional games like pass the parcel, musical statues.

I find it best if you get the kids to say what games they want to play.

  12. buy dollar store crowns, and they can be fairy prince's.

whats wrong with being a prince? there are cartoons out there with boy fairys too you know....not a big deal

  13. ya do that
