...and she is wanting a new digital camera, and I told her I would think about it (wink, wink) and I don't know what would be the best brand for under 200. It needs to be shock proof, work well in dim lighting, and take great pictures.

She already had the Kodak easyshare M753 or something

She wants to use it for actual photography, I think she has a great eye

Any suggestions would be helpful

Thanks from,

confused mom

  1. She already has a low end digital camera. Why not pick up a high end film SLR and lens for less than $100?

If she really wants to learn photography, she should learn it best on one with manual controls. She'll find she takes better photos and thinks more when she has a somewhat limited number.

  2. look it up on the internet

or use ebay they have great camreas for low pricese

  3. ok. i think you should get her the stylus

it may not be under 200..but its an AWESOME camera.

    its even waterproof.

    it takes rly good pics

  4. If you are looking for a camera for an aspiring photographer, you want something that has manual controls. Manual controls allow the photographer greater control over the final image.

The camera I like, is the Canon 590 IS. It costs about $150

An entry level point and shoot, it has image stabilization and a greater range of settings than many others in it's class.
