Daughters Year Eleven Prom

It is soon going to be my daughters prom. This means we'll need to go dress shopping etc. Thing is, my daughter isn't exactly the most girly person living. She has never worn make-up in her life.

She wants to wear a dress because she doesn't want to turn up in trousers. What kind of dresses should we look for, and what advice do you have for make-up and hair. I don't wear makeup either, so wouldn't know where to start.

She is of medium height and build, brown hair shoulder length, grey eyes. ANy suggestions and help is greatful

  1. you should probably use black eye liner and some blush that will ALMOST match her skin and go to a hair shop for advice they should have photos there in books she can choose from and don't use red lipstick get a nice light pink and you need to get a nice pink dress like this one http://www.partycloz.com/dress-pix/DSC04... and here are some good hair styles http://www.2promhairstyles.com/prom-hair... ask your daughter about 1.13, or 25 the other ones will probably burn your eyes out cause they look hidious lol hope it help ( just rint out the pictures and take them to a hiar and dress shop and ask about them then the hair shop should do which ever one you choose and you might be licky to find the dress some place and remember black eye liner and lght pink to at least a light red no dark red

  2. My daughter was exactly the same, she preferred to have a book in her hand than experiment with make up and hair.

Why not book her into somewhere where she can get a manicure, makeup and hair done, thats what I did.

As for a dress, she got a simple strapless black satin ballgown from debenhams and enhanced it with victorian style choker and earrings.

  3. a pretty green mid length dress to bring out her eyes. as for hair put it up and a bun like this: http://www.prom-hairstyles.us/images/028...

as for how to do the hair: curl the top part of her hair then dive it and put it in a bun then decorate it with flowers

    shoes just simple black heels.

make up: chocolate brown eyeshadow with a little eyeliner and a touch of mascara some brown blush and pink lip gloss

i wish her an amazing prom and the best nite of her life.

  4. Keep the makeup minimal. Maybe just a bit of lip gloss. Gosh, at that age they're so gorgeous anyway, they don't need it.

Does she have to have a fancy hairstyle? Maybe you could just get her a really nice haircut for the prom.

Help her find a dress that she'll be comfortable wearing.

The main thing is that she has a good evening, and that when you and she look back at those photos you'll both feel happy.

  5. just put some light colors of eyeshadow soo she doesnt look to made up put clear lipgloss mascra and a light line of eye liner

    hair-http://i.realone.com/assets/rn/img/7/6/7...

for this hairstyle you just pin her bangs back with a bobby pin but kinda puff the bangs so they look up like hers does then put her hair in a bun and have her shake her head back  in forth to make it a little loose

    accesories-http://shop.pacsun.com/accessories/girls... white pair

    she will look adorable

  6. If she's not a girly girl - when it comes to dresses, the simpler the better.

I suggest a simple evening gown - ankle length - one colour. A bright, vivid colour works well on nearly anyone - such as red, green or blue - go to a department store and check out what they have.

With her hair, since its shoulder length, she could probably keep it down - but have it professionally washed and blown dry. For makeup - for my prom I used only foundation and mascara.

  7. Here's a good dress:

It's simple and nice, but not too girly.

Her makeup doesn't need to be super girly either.

    Try something like this:

Just use a pink-ish blush and a colored lip gloss.

As for hair, I'd consult a local salon. Call them up. Sorry I can't give you any tips, but I'm bad with hair :(
