Dav Whatmore expects tough competition in World T20 – Cricket News Update
Pakistan head coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 to be a tough competition, and has admitted that his side will be under pressure of performing well, after reaching the final fours in the last three editions
of the esteemed tournament.
“...all teams are paying due importance to the World Twenty20 so it’ll make for a good tournament but we’d like to think we’ll be as good as we can be and if that is the case then I think we’ll be figuring somewhere,” said the Pakistan coach while speaking
to media persons after his team’s arrival in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033, to play a limited-overs series against Australia.
The latest edition of the T20 World Cup gets underway in Sri Lanka, on September 18 and will run until October 7. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 in 2010.

Whatmore, who was the coach of Sri Lanka during their victorious 50-overs world cup campaign in 1996, is aware of the pressure on his side, and said that he was ready to take the challenge.
“Those figures sound impressive so the pressure is on for us this time, particularly me. It's a challenge but I've always looked forward to these sorts of challenges,” said the Australian tactician.
Whatmore joined Pakistan team in March this year and led the Men in Green to Asia Cup title in his first assignment with the side, and is confident the side would do well in Sri Lanka as well.
"The talent is definitely there, we just need to be a little bit stronger and win the mental battle a bit more and the team will be very competitive and consistent," said the 58-year-old former Australian cricketer.
Pakistan has been placed in Group D, with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, and will play their first World T20 match against the Kiwis, on September 23.
The Pakistan team is currently in the UAE to play three ODIs and three T20 Internationals against Australia, between August 28 and September 10.
