Dav Whatmore, the head coach of Kolkata Knight Riders is positive about his side’s performance in the Champions League T20 qualifier despite the absence of the hard hitting top-order batsman and captain of the side, Gautam Gambhir.
Whatmore conceded that they will miss the likes of Gambhir however he said that since it was an unavoidable situation so they are just trying to put their best foot forward.
"He (Gambhir) was the skipper. Obviously, we will miss him as he is a very good player,” said Dav Whatmore while talking to the media reporters on Wednesday. “It is just a little unfortunate as his injury happened during the Test series in England. That
was an unavoidable situation. We just try to get on with it as best as we can," he added further.
