Dave Bautista reveals Stephen Bonnar beat the ‘h**l out of him’ – UFC News
Former WWE superstar Dave Bautista scored his first MMA victory past Saturday. However, he was not impressive in the ring and he admits it without any hesitation. Somehow, Bautista was able to score a TKO win over his opponent Vince Lucero.
However, the ‘Animal’ revealed that he is not better than middleweight champion Anderson Silva’s upcoming opponent Stephan Bonnar. Bautista revealed that Bonnar has been his training partner since the time he started preparing for UFC. The former WWE superstar
further revealed that Bonnar is quite excited to face Anderson Silva, and that the excitement has energised him.
What was surprising to know was the fact that Bonnar ‘beat the h**l out of’ Bautista right after he got to know he was up for Silva.
“I don't know if [working with me] energized him, but the day he got the call for Anderson Silva, he came to practice the next day, and he beat the living h**l out of me,” said Bautista in an interview with MMAJunkie.com.
Bautista believes Bonnar knows what to do against Silva. Bonnar ensured he spoke to Bautista before the Animal’s debut match.
“I think Stephan Bonnar is going to be a little disappointed. He called me, and the two things he said was, 'Keep your hands up and your chin down.' And I did neither of those things. I think I was so nervous. ... I was terrified walking out there,” Bautista
revealed.
Bautista went onto show that he indeed is a tough fighter and he can take the shots.
According to the ‘Animal’, his head coach Josh Rafferty claimed he is proud of him. He even asserted that he went through a two-month camp. According to Bautista, his trainer praised him for never ‘bitching’, complaining and never being absent for practice.
However, according to Batista’s opponent Lucero, the victory was a no win situation for the former WWE superstar. He added that Bautista had everything to lose while he had nothing to, and so Bautista should be respected for the win, even though it was not
an impressive one.
For now, Bautista is excited about the fact that he scored a win in MMA.
