Dave Chisnall wins his 3rd successive Players Championship, he is unstoppable!
Dave Chisnall has gone ‘unstoppable’ with his third consecutive win at the Players Championship. His quality of darts is supreme, his technique and precision is perfect and his aims are sky high.
Chisnall entered the Players Championship as an under-dog. In the presence of players like Adrian Lewis, Simon Whitlock and James Wade, the chances seemed slim for the young magician.
As they say, passion is all that is needed. Chisnall had that passion. He sliced across every one and took the Players Championship away from others with amazing style and charisma.
“It feels good - this must be my lucky venue!, I played well all through the day, I had some scares and had a few 6-4 wins, and the games against Arron Monk and Ian White could have gone either way, but I've come through and got the results,” said Chisnall
after his successive victory.
Adrian Lewis remained disappointing as he failed to reach the finals and flunked miserably against Baxter. “The Jackpot” has been facing plenty of criticism regarding his poor form and there are no signs of any improvement.
Simon Whitlock also remains ‘title-less’. He reached the quarter finals but fell apart. He is the only darts player who has not won a single championship officially.
It is frustrating for him and the fans to witness “The Wizard” reaching the finals and not winning after that, it is unbelievable!
Taylor, on the other hand, has confirmed that he will retire in three years. He plans on letting it be after he claims another world title and becomes the 16-time world champion.
“I’m going to do another three years until I’m 55 and then we’ll see what happens from there. I can’t keep going forever obviously,” said Taylor.
"The Power" has seen his glory. He remains the only 15-time world champion in the world and he still is the best dart thrower that has ever lived. His accomplishments are as big as his nickname, they are 'powerful'.
Without Taylor, players like Dave Chisnall would be considered as the new leaders of the game.
Chisnall is heading towards the right direction and he is the most dangerous dart thrower at the World Matchplay.
