Dave Salo extends contract for another five years with Trojan – Swimming news
USC Athletic Director, Pat Haden,  announced that Dave Salo, who is the USC swimming head Men’s and Women’s coach, has signed a five-year contract extension with Trojan, in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday, July 12.
Soon after the statement, Salo said that he was really impressed with the developments they have done so far and was very much keen to carry on improving things in the same manner. Apart from feeling proud of the Trojan team, he indeed liked the positive
gestures from both Pat Haden and Donna Heinel.
While speaking about the extended contract, Associate Athletic Director, Donna Heinel stated, “Dave and his staff have orchestrated the return of USC swimming to one of the premiere programs in the nation and they aren't finished yet. They have achieved
this success by targeting student-athletes of the highest caliber both academically and athletically.”
He further added that they are really dedicated to improve the yardsticks in Trojan, for both Men’s and Women’s swimming in their respective events.
At the moment, Dave Salo is considered to be one of the most reputed swimming coaches in the world. He has different sorts of competencies in mentoring his swimmers via his unique experience, rational knowledge, agility and dedication of the highest level.
Under his coaching, the USC swimming team earned the third and seventh place honours in the Women’s and Men’s swimming events at the 2011 NCAA Championships.
Moreover, sprinters like Katinka Hosszu, Vladimir Morozov, Aaron Peirsol and Amanda Beard have attained huge success under the guidance of Salo. In addition, Rebecca Soni and Ous Mellouli took home several gold titles in competitive swimming competitions,
under the training and instructions of Salo.
With the 2011 FINA World Championship to be held in Shanghai, China, from July 16, the young and competitive Trojan’s swimmers like Haley Anderson, Stina Gardell and Morozov will be eyeing to impress in the event.
Under the guidance of Salo, these athletes are expected to perform well and put up a show at the all-important swimming event in China.
