  1. The wedding gowns are a great price, no doubt. But, you'll want to buy your undergarments elsewhere. That's where they get you, they also get you on the alterations charge. Just go in there prepared to add between $150 to $200 extra to the cost.

  2. I think it's a great place, just all depends on which place you go to (like city wise.) Sometime there having sales which is a plus.

Just check it out and see if you like and if you do come back and look for some thing.

  3. I think http://www.wellbridal.com is a great place for bridesmaids. They have so many dresses and so many colors. Not to mention that everyone can try on their actual size, which will help with ordering. It's easy to get altered and just keeps it simple for everyone.

  4. I loved David's Bridal that is where I got my wedding dress. Just don't buy your tiara, shoes, or vail there. I got my vail and tiara from Michaels and my shoes I ordered out of the JCPenney catalog. I also bought my jewelry at JCP. Oh and Michaels has garders for a good price too

  5. I would recommend David's Bridal, I just got married last weekend and I bought my dress there. I was going to go for a designer dress, but they were having a sale so I decided to check it out. when I came in they took my info, I didnt have a wedding date yet (if you dont put one down and you order a dress they make you pay for a rush, but getting a rush on it isnt too expensive). They have really friendly attendants, and the dresses are beautiful, someone posted that the quality wasn't very good, I would disagree. I tried on the expensive designer dresses and the ones at DB... and I felt better in the DB dresses.

I bought my dress and had it altered in WA and then I moved to WI where the wedding was held, the dress got crinkled, and they steamed it for free at the store here. David's Bridal has good prices, good quality, and excellent service. Everyone thought I looked stunning, thats all I can say.

  6. They are not known for their customer service. They are the McDonalds of the bridal world. Their #1 concern is volume, not quality. So you get what you pay for. When I was there I saw dresses being dragged across the floor, hanging in the window getting yellowed by sunlight, beads torn off, you name it. I promptly left.

If you get the dress from there, I do suggest you take it elsewhere for alterations. They cant force you to get it alterted there. At least then you know its being kept clean and taken care of, and from I have read on here they over-charge for their alterations.

  7. I think David's bridal is fine.  Many people will say that the dresses aren't "quality" but what the heck... you're only going to wear it once.

The only thing I don't like about that place is that their dresses are quite common and heavily advertised so I think it's harder to be unique or have that element of surprise when you shop there.

  8. I had an appointment with the bridal consultant mid-week when there was absolutely no customers in the store.  The consultant didn't really listen to what I wanted (something very simple) and filled the room up with dresses that were not what I wanted.  I was disappointed because she kept trying to sell me the dresses off the rack which were missing beads and dirty.  She booked another 2 appointments during the same less than an hour time period I was there, left me in the cold and began trying to hook up the other girls in dresses.  (I can only figure that they work on commission and maybe she felt it was going to be a bigger one with them!)  My aunt and I walked out of the store and the bridal consultant kept calling and leaving messages on my phone for the next 2 weeks!

We went to Alfred Angelo across the street from David's Bridal and they valued my business.  The bridal consultant LISTENED to what I wanted and got me into a dress that was perfect for me.  The consultants remember my name every time I have come in and that was the icing on the cake.  As an added benefit, the consultant went above and beyond, giving me additional discounts on mine and my daughter's dresses and a tiara for my daughter's hair.

  9. I personally do like the quality of DB dresses, but my best friend who is getting married and had a great experience there. She has a challenging figure to fit and it was great to be in a store where she could try on dresses that fit here.  They have the dresses in all sizes which is a huge bonus.

  10. prices can be great

    selection is always good

the staff is hit or miss, some know a lot, other know nothing.  And it differs on location as well.

I did one at a MA location that was a nice girl but had me in the wrong size, then a second appointment in NH, the lady was a bit short and rude but knew the dresses much better.

  11. they're a bunch of f**s

  12. ive had nothing but good experiences there.  try to book your apointment  during the week when they are less busy, itdoes get a little bit hectic on weekends.  they still try to be as personable as possible though.

ive heared mixed results as well, but from my own experiences they were good, and i got exactly the dress i wanted with very personable service

  13. I think it's a great place for bridesmaids. They have so many dresses and so many colors. Not to mention that everyone can try on their actual size, which will help with ordering. It's easy to get altered and just keeps it simple for everyone.

  14. Every David's Bridal is different.  The dresses are priced pretty good but the service I've received is so, so crappy!  Unfortunately your best bet would be to do business with them but be prepared to be treated like you're in line in the emergency room i.e., they'll get to you when they feel like it even when you have an appointment... either that, or they're beyond snooty.

I honestly thought it was funny how rude some of the employees acted when in all reality, they're basically working in the walmart of the wedding industry.  (Hey, I shop at walmart!)

Keep in mind, if they s***w up on anything -like send your wedding dress back too short one month before the wedding as they did me, the highest person you can speak with is the 22 year old manager.  Like I said, every store is different though.  If you look through their website, there is no "contact us" link anywhere.

I wish you luck because you might need it... but then again, maybe you have a good store in your area!

    :)

EDIT:  I forgot to mention that they do have a huge inventory to chose from at decent prices, but they will get you in alterations.
