The defensive midfielder has revealed his disdain towards the two Spanish Primera giants, stating that the two teams use their finances to weaken other sides.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Albelda-c10417 is of the opinion that the competition in the Spanish La Liga will soon die out as the league has become nothing more than a two-horse race.
The Spaniard went on to point out that the fact that the two Spanish juggernauts, Real Madrid and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, have the financial prowess to strengthen their squads is harming the beautiful sport in the Iberian Peninsula.
The footballer claimed that other sides in the Spanish Primera Division have been working as feeder clubs for the top two teams. The past few seasons have seen top players from Spanish clubs heading towards either Los Blancos or La Blaugrana.
The 34-year-old was particularly frustrated at the fact that both, Madrid and Barca, are rivals to the clubs that they buy players from, however, their deep pockets allow them to buy out the loyalties of the players.
The last three to four seasons have seen this difference grow bigger as a number of quality players have left their own clubs in order to join either Los Vikingos or La Azulgrana.
Recent signings made by the Spanish capital-based club include http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordi-Alba-c19111.
It is important to note that all of these players carried out first-team duties in their previous clubs.
It appears as though La Liga has always been dominated by just two teams, as their success and number of triumphs outnumber all other sides in the country.
While talking to reporters, Albelda was quoted as saying:
"In the last few seasons they have been spending more and more and soon they have all the best players, two for each position. This year they have come and taken from us, or we have sold, like with Jordi Alba.”
"Real Madrid are the current champions of the league and had over a 100 points and their squad will not need many changes to [achieve] it."
Valencia managed to secure the 3rd spot in the Spanish Primera Division in the recently passed season.
