David Beckham's future with Los Angeles Galaxy uncertain, decision pending until MLS Cup final
David Beckham’s contract with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Los-Angeles-Galaxy-c39818 runs out in December 2011, and speculations as to whether he would continue his stay at the MLS outfit for another 2-year period or move back to Europe are rife.
On Thursday, the Englishman gave some clues about his pending decision.
“Once I get a bit of rest and see where I am.” Beckham was quoted as saying in the press.
The midfielder missed a training session on Thursday as a precautious move. Galaxy manager Bruce Arena told the media that the right-winger had a cold and did not want to aggravate his fever prior to the MLS Cup final on Sunday.
In the press meeting, Beckham hinted that his final decision boils down to two factors: he has to take into account his physical status, and his family’s stance in moving to another country.
“I’ve always said it’s down to how I feel physically,” Beckham told the media gathering. “My No. 1 priority always is my family and are they happy. We love living here [in LA] and we‘ve loved living here for five years and we continue to love that part of
it. But it will be down to how I feel physically. I’m 36 years old, but I still love the game like I was 21 years old.”
However, Beckham made it clear that the decision of his stay will come out after the MLS finale. Should Los Galacticos win the title, it will be their third piece of silverware in the league.
For the English star, the MLS Cup final is of foremost importance, not only for himself but for the club as well.
“Of course I want to win the Cup on Sunday," he said, "but it’s more important for the club that we win the cup on Sunday than myself.”
A number of European outfits are interested in Beckham’s services and atop the list are Paris Saint-Germain, the French Ligue 1 club. Now owned by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, President of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986 Investment Authority, Les Rouge-et-Bleu are trying their best to land
the English veteran at Parc des Princes.
