David Beckham has taken the spot light in the racism saga that has been underway in English football and blasted FIFA’s president Sepp Blatter over his comments on the investigations that have been under way in English football
over John Terry’s comments towards Antoine Ferdinand and Luis Suarez’s comments towards Patrice Evra.
Blatter stated in his comments that players should deal with racism and the taunts related to the colour of their skin in a more tolerant manner by shaking hands after wards the game and acting like gentlemen rather than making
a fuss out of the whole matter altogether.
His comments were seen offensive and racist in nature by many pundits and footballers alike around the world including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432. Since then Sepp Blatter has come out and apologized for his comments but the criticism is still
coming in for the FIFA president.

Beckham added to the criticism directed at Sepp Blatter in his recent interview as the former Manchester United midfielder said that "The comments were appalling. A lot people have said that. I don't think that the comments were
very good for this game.
There obviously is, and has been, racism throughout soccer and in life over the last few years. I do think, especially being around the England team and being around the Football Association - the FA do a lot of work in kicking
racism out of the game. They've have made huge strides in the past 10-15 years - but it is still there."
He also added that things such as racist remarks and gestures cannot be dealt with in the way that Blatter prescribed, by sweeping them under the rug or by shaking a hand after the match, that is not how racism is dealt with around
the globe and FIFA should take more steps towards purging football of racism.
