English football superstar, David Beckham, is considering staying in the Major League Soccer team, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Los-Angeles-Galaxy-c39818, beyond the end of his contract.
The player’s five year contract with LA Galaxy ends at the conclusion of the current 2011 campaign. However, the 35-year old has hinted that he can sign an extension with his current team.
He said on LA Galaxy’s official website, “Yeah, you know, there's a chance. I haven't made any decision about what I'm going to do after this year”.
Beckham maintained that he still has the hunger to play top flight football, however, at age 35 he has to listen to his body.
The player claims that a decision to continue his football career is not about his desire to play but rather the ability to continue to perform at the top level.
He added, "At the end of the day, I am 35 years old, I’ll be 36 in May and I’m getting older, so I’ll need to see how my body feels at the end of the season, and if I feel that I can perform and continue, then I will continue”.
The former Manchester United star claims his time in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 has been enjoyable as he has lots of friends throughout the league.
At present Beckham claims that he is focused to improve his performances on the pitch and wants to help his side win the MLS championship.
Currently, LA Galaxy are placed third in the Western Conference Standings, after accumulating eight points from five games.
Beckham believes the standard of football has gone up over the years in the MLS. The league is much more competitive now as compared to when he first arrived. One of the most famous players in football history, Beckham, has English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, and, UEFA Champions League, winner medals in his collection. The Englishman certainly is a household name in football and does not need additional titles
to solidify his legacy.
Beckham admitted that he wants to represent his National side in the 2012 Olympics but added that it is too early to make plans for 2012, as it’s still a year away.
