http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 has gone on to praise Roy Hodgson’s decision to appoint Gary Neville as a coach for the upcoming Euro 2012.
Beckham and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Neville-c14447 both played for Manchester United for almost ten years, before Beckham ended up moving to Real Madrid, before joining the LA Galaxy.
As a result, the midfielder is well aware of the quality and potentially that Neville possesses.
Being a part of the Olympic delegation for England, Beckham is currently representing the nation in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Greece-c2908, but took time to go ahead and praise the new England manager’s decision to include Neville in the squad, since he can go on and help the team out tremendously.
When talking about Neville and his importance to the team, Beckham is reported to have said: “I think it's great. Gary has knowledge throughout the game”
“He's been in big tournaments [and] he's played for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 for many years.”
“Gary has always been very vocal about many things. He's had the experience of being through tournaments and being disappointed in tournaments and knowing what he thinks have been the problems - that's why it's a clever move and great for the team.”
“Let's hope we go out there and we're successful. It's a new team, young players.”
“It's one of the first times we have gone into a big competition without huge, huge expectation on our shoulders - that could maybe be a good thing for the team.”
It is still unclear what Neville will actually be doing for the team, but what can be said assuredly, is the fact that he will be able to help the defenders and full backs out quite exponentially.
The former United player has ample experience under his belt and even if he shares just a little bit of it with the team, they could go on and put in some brilliant performances.
Nonetheless, in order for the team to really move forward, Hodgson is going to have to get his tactics and squad list just right, or he could be the latest manager to see England failing to live up to their potential and their fans expectations.
