David Collier all praise for Andy Flower - Cricket News Update
The Chief Executive of England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Flower-c44362, and was happy that his achievements have been recognised by the board.
Andy Flower, the 43-year-old former Zimbabwean cricketer, was on Wednesday, named as the UK Coach of the Year in recognition of his role in helping England become the world’s number one Test side after guiding http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964 and his men to their first Ashes
win down under after 23 years.
In addition, the former Zimbabwean batsman was also named as UK’s High Performance Coach for the 2011 season.
Collier described Flower as an outstanding coach to the England team and expressed satisfaction over the jury’s decision to award him with accolades for the successful 2011 season.
"Andy has been an outstanding coach to the England cricket team and I am delighted that his dedication, knowledge and all-round leadership skills have been recognised within the wider sporting world,” said the ECB chief Executive David Collier while talking
to the media reporters on Wednesday.
The 37-year-old Zimbabwean took over from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-Moores-c81848 as England’s interim coach in January 2009. He guided England to the World T20 Champ title in 2010, England’s first ever title in a tournament played under ICC’s flagship. He then guided Strauss and
his men to an Ashes victory in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 before humiliating the then world number 1 England 4-0 at home to clinch the top spot on ICC’s Test rankings.
Collier lauded Flower’s contribution to the team and said that it was due to his personal drive and determination that he helped England through various achievements over the past 12 months.
"The last 12 months have been momentous ones for the England cricket team and this is in no small part due to Andy's personal drive and determination to bring the best out of his players and ensure that our preparation and performance are second to none." 
After being awarded with two accolades at the 2011 UK Coaching Awards, the Zimbabwean said that there was no “mysterious answer” to his success, adding that it was his simple approach that helped him as well as the England cricket team and the players.
The former wicketkeeper batsman of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 said that experience had taught him, “"simplicity is the best place to start".
