David Cook- Word Nerd?

I recently went to an American Idol concert and I saw a lot of people with David Cook shirts that said "Word Nerd". What does that mean?

When he was on the show he called himself a "Word Nerd" because he liked to do crossword puzzles.

Pahaha.  On the show when the contestants were supposed to say something that people didn't know about them David Cook said he was a word nerd and did crossword puzzles and what not.
