If he thinks his by-election victory is 'stunning' does that mean he thinks Robert Mugabe's election victory is also stunning and recognises and condones him as President of Zimbabwe?

  1. He stood unopposed by any serious opponent yet still ended up 5679 votes down on his general election result.Voters were so apathetic to him and his stunt that 65% didn't even bother to vote. Why can't he see that the silent majority are in favour of the 42 days bill.If he wishes to debate the issue with the Monster Raving Loony party he should do so at his own expense.A pyrric victory in every sense of the word.

  2. I cant really see what he has acheived, he resigned he stood and has been elected. Appart from spending money and making a twit of himself hes in the same place as he was before.  As for holding Terror suspects Id rather they made sure before letting them go would you? In Greece they can hold them for a year without charge, so I dont know what he has his knickers in a twist over.

  3. Your 2 points are not compatible. D Davis winning shows the government and the Tories that privacy is an issue with voters so lets hope that the message sinks in.

  4. So Ok now what . He`s back exactly where he was with one exception. Hes no longer in the shadow cabinet .

    What A PRIZED PLONKER

  5. well done D.D.STANDING UP FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE UK..

  6. What has Davis won? He has won nothing unless he intends to use his "stunning by-election" victory to attempt to form his own political party. I doubt whether he has thought about Mugabe. They are in a different league. Mugabe is a threat to world peace. Davis is just a failed politician who has made an empty gesture which will be forgotten in a few days.

  7. It's certainly stunned him.  He's back where he started except that he's out of the shadow cabinet.  His own party think he's a pain and everybody else has ignored him. Duhhhh!

The irony is that he actually had a valid point to make.  he just chose a really stupid way to make it.
