David Drysdale plays the Barclays Singapore Open with his Octane Driver
The Barclays Singapore Open held its second round of golf today and will continue till the 14th of November 2010. This is a 204 player field that is at present led by the golfer Adam Scott with a consecutive score of two 65s while
David Drysdale stands with a minus 4 in total.
For the first time, the event is using two courses, both of 71 pars, in which the golfers play one round on both layouts with those that will make the half way cut after completing the 36 holes of the Serapong course. While Chris
Wood and Kim Bi-o were reported to play a much easier part of the Tanjong course, Drysdale was described to play at the tougher Serapong course with his all-black Octane driver.
The golfer from Scotland is said to card 4 birdies and stood at a 68 with a 4 under position after the 16th hole of the GC before the play halted due to extremely bad light in R1.
The Singapore Open was formerly led by Chris Wood and Bi-o Kim in its first round in which both the players managed to card a 63 with an 8 under. The leaders were however replaced after the halted game commenced today for the rest
of the 107 players.
So Thurday’s play experienced a setback for 4 hours at the first round around seven p.m. in which only 96 players out of 204 had been able to complete their game on time. The rest of golfers commenced their play today from seven
thirty in the morning.
Today however, the golf courses looked untouched from the rain as players commenced their game. According to the Sentosa director of golf Peter Downie, the golf club installed a sub-air system some years back in its greens and
fairways due to which the golf club regained its original shape in such a short time.
“Without the sub-air system it would have been impossible for the club to be in such a great shape so soon” Drysdale said.
According to Drysdale, the 'sub-air' system is a positive fixation and said that the Callaway Octane club thus used by him had caused a massive change in his game. He said that he was playing such a remarkably solid game that he
didn’t miss even one fairway out of the 16 holes he played. Drysdale carded a 70 in R2 and has played a total of 138 strokes till now.
“I will prefer myself to be in a position where I can grab one or two birdies on the last hole” Drysdale said.
