At the Copa Telmex, the number one seed Ferrer did well to make his way into the title battle. He reached the final round after overpowering Simon Greul, Frederico Gil, Igor Andreev and Albert Montanes. In the final, the Spaniard,
however, was toppled by Juan Carlos Ferrero in a three-setter clash. The final match score was 7-5, 4-6, 3-6.
Ferrer's next competition was the 2010 French Open Men’s singles competition, where he was one of the hot favourites to win the title. The 28-year-old Ferrer opened his account with a 6-1, 6-3, 6-1 win over David Guez, a wild card
entrant from France, followed by a second round victory over Xavier Malisse in three sets. The final score line was 6-2, 6-2, 2-0. In the third round, Ferrer, however, was hammered down by Jurgen Melzer in a three- setter clash. The final match score was 4-6,

At the year’s final Grand Slam, the United States Open in New York, the professional tennis ace from Spain, thrashed out Alexandr Dolgopolov 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 and then Benjamin Becker in the first 2 rounds.
The tenth seed made his way into the round of sixteen with a three-setter victory over Daniel Gimeno-Traver. The final match score was 7-6(2), 6-2, 6-2. In the round of 16, Ferrer, however, was toppled by Fernando Verdasco 7-5,

In his most recent performance at the Valencia Open 500 Men’s singles competition, the fourth seed Ferrer made his way into the title battle after scoring victories over Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, Teymuraz Gabashvili, Potito Starace
and Robin Soderling in the initial rounds.
In the finals, he surpassed Marcel Granollers in two sets for his ninth career crown on the tour. With this win, Ferrer also improved his ranking to number seven in the world.
