David Ferrer: “This season has been like a dream for me” – Tennis News
World number five, David Ferrer, has registered the best season of his career with 73 victories and just 14 losses. Moreover, the 30-year-old Spaniard grabbed his maiden Masters title at Paris. It was a special occasion for the
Spanish workhorse who doesn’t give up at any stage of the match and grinds the rival until both of them are left with absolutely no energy at all. He might not possess something extraordinary but his stamina is definitely stupendous. The level of energy from
the first point until the last point of the fifth set will be the same and that is something special about the Spaniard who has sustained his position amongst the Top-5 players with utmost consistency.
Ferrer said after winning the first Masters title at Paris, “This season has been like a dream for me as I’ve won more titles than any other player and they are important titles that I’ve always wanted to win. I’m proud of my achievements
but I want to keep improving and challenging in the biggest tournaments.”
He further added, “I’ve learnt how to challenge and peak at the right time and for me it all starts again in Abu Dhabi. I want the Mubadala World Tennis Championship to help me build for the season ahead, just as it did last year.”
John Lickrish said, “David Ferrer just proved in Paris and all season, alongside players like Tomas Berdych, tennis is no longer just about one or two players.”
He grabbed seven trophies that made him the leader in the number one titles won during the year. Following is the list of his titles in the current season:

One thing is to be considered in Ferrer’s achievement that he was top seed in six of the seven titles of the season. So, it can’t go down as one of the stupendous achievements, however, his performance in the BNP Paribas Masters
in Paris clears the doubt about his class and lists him amongst the most dangerous rivals in any draw.
