Ranked fifth in the world, Ferrer neither hit any ace nor committed any double fault in the first set. The Spanish player kept his first serve percentage at 70 and converted 11 of the 14 of them into points. The 30-year-old also
impressed on his second deliveries and returns, clinching four of the six and 10 of the 16 points on them respectively.
Wawrinka gave a good response in the second set, breaking Ferrer in the very first game and holding his following serve to attain a 2-0 lead. The Swiss contender managed to maintain his advantage during the rest of the set, sealing
it 6-4.
The 6ft tall banged in a couple of aces and committed the same number of double faults in the second set. The right-hander saved all the four break points he faced and converted one of the two he received.

deficit to 1-4 but he succeeded in winning only one more, closing it 6-2.
Ferrer hit a single ace and 58 percent of the first deliveries, pocketing 12 of the 15 points on them. The Valencia, Spain resident kept attacking his opponent’s second serves and won five of the six points on them in the third
set.
