David Gill has now gone on to calm the nerves of just about every United fan, as he has revealed that the club have been working all season long to try and secure some interesting signings in the summers.
When talking about United and the changes that could take place at the club over the coming months, Gill went on to claim: "We're looking at all that. The work goes on all year round but obviously intensifies as we come to the end of the season in terms
of players.”
"There's various contracts we've got to do, we'll look at some acquisitions and there will be some players who will leave. It's an interesting time."
Gill then went on to talk about the current season and just how interesting it had become in the final stretch. United are sitting on top, but the tension that the club is feeling due to all the pressure that City are posing on their title challenge.
"It's been an amazing run and it's going to be a tense end to the season. If we do it, it will be fantastic.”
"This time of year's not good [for the nerves]. You do get tense but we've done very well and are in good shape now - five points ahead with four games to go. It's going to be tight but it's been wonderful."
Nonetheless, it is now going to be a wait for another couple of months to see just who United end up deciding to make a move for. Given the fact that the team is going to have a massive transfer budget to use, they could end up bringing in some world class
players to reinforce the squad.
