David Gray outplays Manish Jain, Reanne Evans beats Ben Judge – 2011 World Snooker Q School, Event 3
Former Scottish Open winner David Gray and seven-time ladies world champion Reanne Evans have both won their Round 2 matches in Event 3 of this season’s World Snooker Q School on day four.
The last event of this year’s World Snooker Q School is being held at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield.
David Gray 4-0 Manish Jain
It was a mind-boggling performance from David Gray, as he showcased his superb break building skills to completely whitewash Manish Jain by a frame score of 4-0.
Gray, who is also known as Casper, did not take much time in wrapping up the match. He racked up a modest break of 56 in the opening frame before a producing a superb break of 132 in the following second to lead 2-0.
Jain had a frame-winning chance in the third but he failed to capitalise on it and was punished from Gray with another classy break of 57. There were no reasonable breaks made in the fourth. However, it was again Gray who appeared on top in it to seal an
impressive win.
David Gray now awaits Charlie Walters in Round 3.
Reanne Evans 4-1 Ben Judge
Seven-time ladies world champion Reanne Evans is also making a strong bid to become the first female ever to be on the professional circuit, as she outplayed the Australian professional Ben Judge by a frame score of 4-1.
Evans mopped up a frame-winning break of 61 in the opening frame to draw the first blood 1-0. Though it was an old-fashioned game afterwards, Evans came far superior to Judge in the safety department. Judge won the second frame but it was Evans who appeared
on top in the following three frames to book her place in the next round.
Reanne Evans has now set up a potential clash with Allan Taylor in Round 3.
